We see the government and teachers taking over raising our children and we can't let that happen. I'm blessed to be able to home school my son, so while I know it's going to be a lot of work, I can feel good about how he's learning. It really feels as though the government want to be the ones raising our children and all we're supposed to do is feed and clothe them. That doesn't work for me.C.N. They raised the expectations for learning without adding additional support. The kids who struggled before are now having an even harder time catching up. Like you, my suggestion is to supplement. I read my favorite picture and chapter books, set up math games, make up stories to help them remember spelling patterns, and give them creative projects to do. Thanks for your post.
